Founded by Joshua Purcell, MBA, EA, we’ve spent decades helping business owners transform chaos into clarity. The name “Lamppost Leadership” comes from C.S. Lewis’s Chronicles of Narnia, where the lamppost marks the boundary between two worlds—the ordinary and the extraordinary.
That’s what we do for business owners: we help you cross from the ordinary world of stress, chaos, and confusion into the extraordinary world of clarity, confidence, and freedom. The lamppost is the guidepost that illuminates the path forward when everything feels dark and uncertain.

Our Founder

Joshua C. Purcell, MBA, EA

He’s been where you are. He’s made payroll under pressure, dealt with cash flow crunches, built teams, managed growth, and navigated the challenges of scaling a business. He learned financial management through experience, mistakes, and eventually success.

More importantly, Joshua believes that business ownership is about more than profit—it’s about stewardship. He’s passionate about helping business owners build companies that don’t just succeed financially, but create lasting impact on families, employees, communities, and the lives they touch.

Outside of Lamppost Leadership, Joshua serves as a committee chair for the local Great River Young Life and has been involved in church leadership and community service for decades. He believes deeply in using the gifts and experiences he’s been given to serve others, add value to his community, and help everyone do better together.

His approach to business is shaped by his faith and the conviction that we’re called to be faithful stewards of what we’ve been entrusted with—whether that’s financial resources, business opportunities, or the privilege of serving and leading others. He believes in building businesses that reflect the principles laid out for us in Scripture: integrity, generosity, servant leadership, and leaving a lasting positive impact.
